Womens Group

Trinity Parish Church Women’s Group

Trinity’s women’s group, currently has 32 members. The group meets every second Monday, when we have speakers talking on a variety of subjects and musical evenings. Occasionally  we hold a concert in aid of church funds or a charity.

We have been visited by children from Woodlands Nursery and we returned that visit and were given a tour of their excellent new facility. Eleven women’s group members visited and were entertained by the children singing and with the tea and cakes afterwards.

Primary 4/5 from Woodhead Primary School, invited our group to join in their “Mary’s Meals” project and we donated 30 back packs to this worthwhile cause.

On the 2nd December we enjoyed our pantomime visit and in January, celebrated with our Burns Supper. Our summer outing will take place in June. We enjoy time spent together and the friendly atmosphere in the group.

The ladies of the group had great fun at their last meeting before the Easter break, playing traditional games from their childhood. They played “Gird & Cleek” the “Whip & Peerie”, Peever (Hopscotch to us youngsters) and they sang the rhymes they sang when they played with balls and skipping ropes as children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing about “The Good Old Days”
