Our Church

Welcome to the website of Trinity Parish Church Hamilton, we hope you are enjoying reading the various events in the life of our church. If you would like to know a bit more about this church, then please read on…..

On 1st September 1953 the foundation
stone of Laighstonehall Church of Scotland was laid.
Lord Clydesmuir, Lord Lieutenant of the county, laid the stone and
various items were placed in a time-capsule inside it:- the names of the
architect, minister and elders …a newspaper cutting about the new church …
presbytery minutes …a new crown piece …a set of coronation coins …and a
new stamp!

The opening dedication service was held on 3rd November 1954. The first minister was Rev.James Cordiner, 1953-57. The name of the church was changed to Trinity Parsh Church in 1972 after a vote by the congregation.

Our last  minister was the Rev. Karen Harbison, who had been the minister since September 1991 till December 2013
